3D Buzz - Digital Artists Competition: Halloween
This place is a "summary" of the blog-thread I have going on over at 3DBuzz.com, if you want to follow my steps just go here.
Quick explanation:
This is a competition with a halloween theme, meaning anything scary, creepy, mysterious, weird and any other word that describes halloween. Artists can use any means of creating their work, painting, 3D, 2D, photography etc. the end result just has to be a digital image.
Deadline: 11:59:59 PM CST, October 31 - 2008
So what I'm going for is some eerie in-house kitchen action. A werewolf is sneaking up in it's prey in the dark, while it's prey is being distracted by ghastly things outside the window.
Summary.
So, I didn't make it in time with this competition. My computer had too little memory and Maya kept crashing when I tried to render. This wasn't even for the final piece, so whenever I made lighting changes and material/shader changes Maya crashed and I had to restart the application. After 10-15 crashes per hour it finally gets to you. So I was unable to finish anything in time.
However, I still continued to work on this when time permited as I wanted to finish it. So I created a separate section to display just that work, or in this case, the finished work. The images above it shows how far I got into the actual competition.
